FREE Internet in May!

As TUA prepares to wrap up Fiscal Year 2024, TUA President Brian Skelton says internet customers can expect fiscal-year-end rebates in May and no rate increases for the year to come.

According to Skelton, despite lowering the price on the fastest speeds earlier this fiscal year, internet revenue is projected to exceed budget estimates in FY24.  To bring that excess revenue in line with budget estimates before the June 30 end of the fiscal year, the board of directors voted Tuesday, April 23, to issue customer credits in May as a waiver of monthly internet charge. In total, Skelton says the credit “will affect more than 4,000 customers to the tune of $283,000.”

The decision to offer complimentary service was made during Skelton’s final meeting with the TUA board of directors. The outgoing president will serve his final day at TUA on May 15.

“I think this is a good gesture,” he said. “And next year, if we’re doing well again, the board might want to consider doing this again.”
