Fiber Optics FAQs

What is LightTube?

LightTube is a division of the Tullahoma Utilities Authority (TUA). It is the fiber optic network built throughout the City of Tullahoma in order to provide Fiber To The Premise (FTTP). Fiber optic cable runs directly from the headend at TUA to your home or business -with no nodes in between. This produces high quality video, high speed Internet, and feature-rich telephone services.

Is LightTube more expensive than other cable or satellite providers?

The LightTube system is offered with marginal profit because it is owned by the subscribers. Therefore, the cost of the system is kept at a minimum, which makes the services very affordable and limits numerous rate increases like one sees from our competitors. In addition, a huge value added service is local technical support and local customer service. There are minimal problems with LightTube, but should you have a question or need, you can speak to one of our local techs or customer service representatives.

How do I get signed up with LightTube?

Call or stop by the TUA office between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on any weekday.  A local customer service representative at the South Jackson Street office will answer all of your questions and help you complete the paperwork.

You can also sign up over the phone. Just call 931-455-4515 and one of our customer service representatives will walk you through the process.

If you are not available during our operating hours and need additional help,  just let us know. We can schedule someone to visit your home or to stay after hours to help you.
