Setting Up Utilities
What do I need to provide?
Valid Driver’s License/State ID
Social Security card or a legal document with the SSN (legal tax filing statement, bank statement, Medicare card, etc.)
Signed lease agreement/settlement statement (first page and page with signatures) $3.00 credit check (unless you have existing services or recent service through TUA within 3 years)
Deposit (if credit check or established history deems necessary)
Residential application for service (in office, or online under “forms”)
If you are setting up commercial services, please contact the Customer Service Department
Connection Fee
A $40 connection fee is applied to the first bill when new services are established or services are transferred.
Deposit Information
How much is my deposit?
Standard Deposit
If the credit check or account pay history deems a deposit necessary, these are the amounts required to set up services:
Electric – $175.00
Water – $30.00 (inside city limits) $40.00 (outside city limits)
Wastewater – $40.00
Double Deposit
Required for new-service applicants who pose substantial credit risk (red ball returned on credit check), reported as having a bad debt with another utility provider, or left owing any unpaid bill to TUA or LightTube:
Electric – $350.00
Water – $60.00 (inside city limits) $80.00 (outside city limits)
Wastewater – $80.00
How can I get my deposit back?
Residential customers with total billing less than $1500 per month for all accounts combined may request their deposit be applied to their account after 24 months of continuous service if you:
Incur no late payments within 24 consecutive months
Have no check or bank draft returned during the same time period
NOTE:
If you move to another address, the deposit will transfer to your new account.
If you move off of TUA services, the deposit will be applied to the account upon final billing. If there is a credit balance remaining after the final bill is satisfied, a refund check will be mailed to the address provided by you. You can also arrange to stop by the office to pick up your refund with proper ID.
